If the powers that be demand it, it must be done.

It's kind of a weird thing to desire, but I suppose it's the commie ideal. With enough mandatory selective gene editing, I might think they could make everyone into hermaphrodites that slobber over each other in eternal ecstasy weaken males and/or strengthen females to artificially balance things out.
This only comes under the assumption that humanity can achieve such mastery of genetics without wiping itself out of existence first.
