religion bad because it doesn't conform to my progressive modern "tolerances"
Idk homie, with everything the LGBT has done in the short couple of decades of being allowed to be open and the even shorter single-ish decade of being in places of power, I'd say the Bible was too soft on them.
problem with that is you can't have it both ways.
The problem was the gays sold everyone on the lie of "we just want to live our lives like normal and be left alone" and then proceeded to go miles beyond that by abusing the decency and kindness of the mostly Christian nations.
So, I guess well done on setting up a great Scorpion and the Frog parable. The Christians are still in the wrong for trying to still be decent people and only keeping it to civilized "phobias" when they shouldn't have even tolerated letting the homos speak without a stone going their way and now get to sink with them in their hedonistic rush to extinction.
I get you were rushing to say "bibleman bad" but you really should think about the connotations of your accusations, and how they entirely rest on the tolerance and kindness of the people you are hating not going far enough for people who openly spew vile back at them.
instead of going back to that nice middle ground of tolerance
Or maybe they saw what the people they were tolerating were really like, and are reacting accordingly by deciding to no longer give them the benefit of the doubt.
The Bible does condemn a lot of actions. I’m guilty of plenty of sins. I wouldn’t go out of my way to harass a gay person or force them to listen to me talk about the Bible with them. Now if they wanted to have a discussion that’s great. I do try to love everyone as I’m commanded to and that is the right thing but just because I love someone doesn’t mean I won’t tell them the unpleasant truth. That goes across the board and includes me. I’ve been told some unpleasant truths about my actions

Ok. Fair enough. Not much to respond there. Like when the one atheist told me the Bible was a bunch of crap. Nothing more to say about that topic.
