Honestly, the Insurrection Act was a trap from the beginning. Some people on the right couldn't fucking figure it out.
We had a test run of this with the March 29th insurrection and the attack on the White House. "Senior Military Officials" (read: Gen. Milley) explicitly stated that any use of the National Guard in DC would be met with open resistance from the pentagon and DOD. Including ordering troops not to be sent in contradiction to the president's orders. The fact that the WH was attacked, multiple parts of the city were burning, and a historic church had been set on fire were irrelevant. The media berated him for being weak and "hiding in a bunker from protestors", while over 400 LE were injured, and including many Secret Service agents. When Trump finally sent in federal police, the media called it a dictatorial action, and Milley publicly condemned him.
In Oregon, the mayor of Portland explicitly supported terrorism against a federal court house. The state itself was in an insurrection if you had been paying attention to the legal documents. The state attorney general kept trying to force federal agents out of the building to burn it down and kill everyone inside. They filed a lawsuit against the federal government because the feds erected that steel fence to protect the court house, and weren't allowed to actually go out into the street by the government. They tried to have a judge order the feds to immediately remove the fence so that the building and it's occupants could be attacked with no defensive structures.
The Dems wanted nothing more than to hit Trump with an insurrection and a military coup. They did, but quite literally at the last minute. All to keep him from running again, possibly to kill him.
To be honest, I've never seen anything like this in history. The left has never swung for the fences so fucking hard on anyone before. I'm a fan of Goldwater, and there was nothing like this against him. They didn't do this to Nixon. FFS, the political Left didn't go this hard against the fucking Bourbon Restoration.
This is why I still suspect we will see the machine-gunning of Trump supporters, because a large contingent of them will simply be declared to be an insurrection, and someone's going to just open up on them. Remember that Pelosi ordered M240 LMG's deployed... against unarmed protestors. It's only a matter of time.
I think that this overconfident attitude will end up biting the right in the ass if such a scenario actually does play out.
It actually scares me. The red guard riots and great leap forward is all I have to compare it to. The treatment of the common man is usually followed by 'and then it collapsed in 70 years '. These are people willing to destroy everything for their own power and glory.
2024 is going to bring horrors we've never imagined.
It's already brought Whores we couldn't imagine.
Nah, you'll see everything we've seen in China, Cambodia, and previously even in the US, so long as you've read an honest accounting of Communist actions.
