I just thought it was amusing, I guess. Three hours of lectures a week, theoretically about marine mammals, but I would say... 80% of the course content is about ideology, and "saving the planet"...
This is core. Can't avoid it. But it is insane to me that the Head of School, the person who supervises most of my courses, is so ideologically compromised that she essentially runs (STEM) courses like this as her personal ideological crusade...
Mid-30s woman, here. Looks exactly like you would expect. And she calls herself "old", in class, because of course she does...
That doesn't exactly reflect well on the University, I would have thought.
But anyway, I'm just there to get through this thing, and get my piece of paper, but it's still... Disappointing, I guess, that this is the quality of education I am dealing with.
Those are literally classes on narcissism.
Please tell me you're not getting a marine biology degree, though. If the teacher is actually building those courses and ranting about Gaia, you're gonna end up with a completely worthless degree (even for a marine biology degree).
It's just one of my "streams", if you will...
Doing two other things, too. One related (wildlife biology), but unrelated to her teaching/supervision, and one not at all (languages), so...
Yeah. It's just a means to an end at the moment, tbh...
