I just thought it was amusing, I guess. Three hours of lectures a week, theoretically about marine mammals, but I would say... 80% of the course content is about ideology, and "saving the planet"...
This is core. Can't avoid it. But it is insane to me that the Head of School, the person who supervises most of my courses, is so ideologically compromised that she essentially runs (STEM) courses like this as her personal ideological crusade...
Mid-30s woman, here. Looks exactly like you would expect. And she calls herself "old", in class, because of course she does...
That doesn't exactly reflect well on the University, I would have thought.
But anyway, I'm just there to get through this thing, and get my piece of paper, but it's still... Disappointing, I guess, that this is the quality of education I am dealing with.
The competency crisis is coming and this shit is the reason why people will DIE from it. Engineers, pilots, People who have to earn their way through rigorous exclusionary processes are being let through with the most non non relevant skills without any merit. Lives that depend on the best, will now depend on the meh. It's going to be a frightening time.
