I don't want to sound like I'm trying to be mega-edgy or something, but I always have much more sympathy for the shooter than the kids. I know personally what it's like to stand on that edge, and I know who those kids were and how they behaved to become the targets. Thank fucking God for World of Warcraft in my high school years. The internet gave me better friends and connections than RL ever did.

To your post, this will have to be something that everyone works on at once. No singular group, business, or non-profit could be assigned to try to help or fix the masses of broken and dissociated people in our country now. The first step is identification of what the behaviors are that have to be addressed and corrected, and then what you want those behaviors to become instead. Once that agreement is found, the real hard work of bringing it all to fruition can begin.
