They almost certainly didn't all contribute. Its either a diversion to keep people from looking too closely at a single author (a common tactic) or most of them just contributed a quote they got from someone they emailed.
Also (not to be Imp1, here) I'm almost certain they are all women.
Depends on if there is a girl Gene out there. Possibly given Genevieve and all that, but I've only seen guys called that.
