Instead of pushing the bugs on me, would they be willing to feed the bugs to something I would eat instead? Chickens are a good contender, and I doubt pigs would care much either.

We do live in a very strange timeline. I could see secret backyard "protein conversion operations" becoming a thing if there is no "legal" choice but bugs.
