I remember back on the 360 era, there was an option to literally never hear any voice chat from people who are not on your friend list.
It wasn't buried deep in the options, it was one layer behind the voice control menu on your 360. I did it once because there was a sea of pre teen squeakers in a 17+ game.
Don't get me wrong, I don't care what games kids play, but I don't want to have to hear them whining either.
This was around the same time people would complain that they were being yelled at by mean people, when the onus was on them to mute whoever they wanted, or literally never hear anyone outside their friends list.
And now you can be monitored at all times in all games for bad words.
Thank you idiots for killing voice chat. We'll all be back to text with mature language filters in no time.
Edit: I wonder if this voice data will also be used to train AI somehow.
