I will say, though, that I extra appreciate any person who doesn’t support something that would benefit them. 23 percent of the black respondents in that poll, for example. In the same way I tend to doubt any explanation someone gives for supporting a special privilege or gift when they would necessarily get the benefit, I’d give extra weight to any anti-reparations argument made by a black person.
