It's real. Pretty much all news agencies and sites are reporting it here (Germany).

AFAIK the situation is currently that the government "offered" its resignation to the king who has to decide whether he accepts it or not. As I understand it, if he accepts there will be new elections.

On a completely unrelated note: a Dutch supermarket chain just decided to stop selling knives because of violence by "youths".
