One of my many nerd groups I’m is is one for pre-Disney Star Wars fans which is mainly an EU group and we were talking about how all these shill sites have so many good things to say about the EU now when I can remember them talking about how bad it was when Disney took over. Honestly that was my first awareness of the shill media because nerd sites who were pretty positive about the EU all of a sudden started crapping on it once Disney got rid of it.
Some of the guys see this as a positive sign but I guess I’m cynical because I think they just realize that the sequels and a lot of Disney Star Wars isn’t as popular as they want us to believe. Plus I hear the OT toys still sell pretty well.
So what do y’all think? Is this a positive sign or am I right to be cynical?
Im still bitter at the fan reaction to Midichlorians.
This single handlely crushed the man's enthusiasm.
He sold out , he deemed himself unfit.
He sold to the biggest dog on the market. Hoping the investement was enough to make them work on it.
They consulted him for 8. He went "not my problem".
I forgive the zealous re edits. I cant forgive how people treated the man who created what they say they "love"
Midichlorians work perfectly well as a symptom of Force Sensitivity. People way overreacted.
A simple line of dialogue explaining it in later movies would have fixed it.
"Midi chlorians aren't the force but they are always attracted to it"
"The force is an energy field that binds all living things. Ones who are naturally in tune with the force naturally harbor many of these microscopic creatures who thrive on the connection."
You could even have a chicken or the egg sort of deal. Are Midichlorians the source of force sensitivity, or are they merely drawn to it? Or are they spawned from the Force itself? Having mysteries in-universe that people in and out of story can debate over is good storytelling in of itself.
