I had a family friend tell me that "Universities in the US are predominantly right-wing".
I had a co-worker see the local TV station covering an anti-drag protest and say, "Imagine going out to protest other people just trying to do their own thing."
Most Democrats think that over 40% of the US population is black, and 30% are gay. They don't think there were any significant riots in 2020. And most think over a thousand unarmed black men are killed every year by the police.
The worst part isn't just that this isn't true. It's that literally no one ever told them this. I saw the same thing with Covid. People would give me studies about how the vaccines prevented transmission, when the studies themselves never said that. Instead they accepted only the framing of arguments, and never even noticed the detail. This is how they are able to argue that "New York's crime problem is right-wing hysteria."

Voting is absolutely one avenue of damaging the power of the Left. There's a fucking reason they are seething as much as they are about SCOTUS.
It's not the only way, and frankly, the real work for all of us is the IRL work with friends, family, and co-workers.
