Summary: RDR 1 was made with a heavy modified version of the RAGE engine. However, this version was very janky and none of the changes to it were documented, so a lot effort was spent optimising it for 360 and PS3.
I always wanted a PC version. Yes you can play on RPCS3 (and I have) but surely a native version would be better. Allows for modding too. Modders went crazy with San Andreas.
Huzzah! I can’t wait until they race change everyone and get some danger hair to remake Bonnie MacFarlane into a self-insert.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the source code of RDR 1 lost?
Nope, it's just spaghetti
Actually it wouldn't matter if it was. You can reverse engineer all code from retail copies of the game disc
My mistake! I was mixing it up with something else. I found a video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZ11gHIJKj4 As well as a forum post: https://gtaforums.com/topic/961658-the-reason-of-rdr-not-being-on-pc/
