I've worked 12+ hour days of physical labour as a day job (read: for years at a time) and I've worked desk jobs (again: years at a time).
I'd rather put in a day of sun and exercise than slouch in front of a computer dealing with e-mails or other such corporate nonsense. And, at thr end of the day, my bodies' no worse than the office worker, except that I can life; I don't get migraines, or carpal tunnel, or a hunch. As long as you lift properly, you can remain physical well past your 50s.
That said, there's no such thing as a woman who respects sacrifice today, if there ever was.
I was recently talking with a customer, a widow, who mentioned how much work there was in maintaining a house (she had to do it all since her husband passed). She told us: "He never told me how much work it was. Make sure you tell the women in your life how much you do so that they understand".
It took everything I had not to laugh in her face. What, you didn't realize, for 50 years, that your husband was doing all the hard work? You never once tried doing it yourseld until he died? I'm sure you never complained to him about how much you did or how "underappreciated" you were either...
Ironically, my kids repect hard work, just from getting a taste of what I do. They will cook a hot meal and have it waiting for me after work. My ex? Forget it.
I think much of the problem is parents completely failing to properly raise their girls. My daughter both respects sacrifice and understands that her own needs aren't invalid just because she doesn't. Maybe that all falls apart in the teenage years, but she's head and shoulders beyond the other girls her age (or adult women, for that matter) in showing respect.
Yea and what was your life like during those years? Work, sleep, repeat. After doing physical work for 12+ hours you might not feel like it yet but once you settle home and finally sit down you're not getting up anymore, you've had it for the day, then what energy do you have left? Enough to eat something and grab a beer, taking a much needed shower is already questionable so you better do it the moment you arrive home before sitting down, then even the handful of hours you have for ''free time'' you're so exhausted that you can't enjoy them, then you go to sleep, 7-8 hours, wake up, repeat. I don't know about you but I've had it with that, that's no way to live life, and save me from the ''fulfilling work'' bullshit, nothing fulfilling about pushing my body beyond its limits on the daily, even worse if it's done outdoors and you spend all day on the Sun, that will guarantee you're not good for jack shit after work. Meanwhile what, some jerkoff sits in an air conditioned room and spends half the time slacking and makes triple the money you make and dares to fucking complain how it's so ''monotone'' and ''depressing'', give me a break.

Unless you're actually in your 50s or older then save me from these talks. Without giving away my line of work, I'll give you a few examples instead; do you really think you won't have any joint problems in your arm after decades of millions of hammer strikes? Do you really think your back and eye sight won't suffer after decades of welding? Do you really think your back among other joints won't suffer after decades of agricultural work? Whether it being in the fields or around cattle, in general running a farm is very time consuming and exhausting, believe me. You're in for disappointment if you just think ''lifting properly'' will take care of all of your worries.

Parents nowadays completely fail in raising kids in general, regardless if it's boys or girls. Girls are raised with too much freedom and zero accountability, boys are raised as social retards. I used to play outside as a kid, not just that, if I wasn't at school, or asleep, or having a meal, I was outside wandering around, meanwhile kids now are glued to their phones and other gadgets, parents are lazy and uninterested and find it convenient to just toss their child a phone with internet connection because the kid is then glued to it and doesn't bother them, meanwhile it's exposed to all kinds of vile shit on the internet and the parents never even think about it.
