Linus Tech Tips, one of the largest tech Youtube channels, suddenly begins referring to one of their male crew as "Emily" and "she".
I've been watching these guys for years, since they were running their server out of bathtub in Linus' house. I had already stopped watching the podcast recently because of some of the nonsense their editors would slip into the notes. Now they just throw some frosted tips on an obese, balding man and suddenly start calling him "Emily".
I am so sick of this bullshit infecting every part of the entertainment industry. I just want to relax with some funny tech videos and I get a [redacted] shoved in my face. I can't be the only one annoyed by this as the video link gets auto-deleted at pReddit KiA2.
Why did they insist on putting this guy in front of the camera in the first place? It was a pity gesture from the get go, even before the transjesterization. This guy is the very antithesis to a video host: morbidly obese, a homely face, awkward.
At this point they're taking advantage of him. In normal times they would have brought in a psychotherapist for an intervention.
Maybe I have low standards, but his presentation seems fine. Massively obese people are always difficult to look at. I actually though well of Linus for putting this guy on. When you start using fat people as models, that's ridiculous. Fat people presenting information is fine. Based on my assessment of morbidly obese people, they're dumber than average. That's one reason you don't see a lot of hugely obese smart people. But you see a lot of em with quite a few extra pounds on.
I feel that. I'm a software eng and I feel like I have to eat basically 1/3 of what I used to just to stay normal BMI. It's even harder since my employer moved us to work from home.
It'll get better when I finish building my gym in the basement but it's easy to see why IT people get fat.

rofl, but consider the following.

IT has a lot of overweight/obese people but that is caused mostly due to the job not really promoting a healthy lifestyle.
