I get the feeling actual women athletes know exactly where they stand against men, but I’m sure some non-athletic feminists were shocked by this result. Especially the kind who vocally support trannies in women’s sport.
But I don’t give much credit for the USWNT realistically knowing where they stand against men since they spent about a decade arguing they were “better than the men” when that was convenient to their salary lawsuits. (Plus the little discussed fact that the national team was just chasing the bag for their own limited roster — there is an entire women’s league in the US, where most of the players won’t make the national team, and the suing players didn’t seem concerned that the non-USWNT players get paid diddly squat.)
If it's a 1v1, keeper vs striker, the striker has way more options than the keeper.
The defence should be harrying the striker, not leaving them all the room and all the time they need to park it in the corner.
Even if you're smaller, you need to be closing the striker down, making him want to dump the ball onto one of his team-mates, so you get a chance at an interception.
Of course the defense was part of the problem. It's women playing against men lol the goalie would look like an utter fool trying to defend them as well.
I doubt the ladies team went into this with misapprehensions. Their goalie did well.
It is flattering though. I too could beat ladies at football if I was a professional footballer!

Any goalie is bound to save a few balls. She spent half the game flopping on the ground after the ball was already in the back of the bet.
The problem, at least partially, was the defence.
