In a worse case scenario I have an external hard drive backup which is very handy that I regularly make copies of my life's work ( Mostly code and should probably save my 3D models and art ).
If I ever end up having to fuck off somewhere I can at least cut my losses and still have all my work on there safely. Hopefully it will never come to that though and maybe the masses will finally have had enough of the UK governments' bullshit regarding state harassment but you never know. I'd consider even learning Russian but I wonder if my fucking government would use that as an excuse to maliciously label me a Russian agent in this day and age because yes they are that bad. I just want to develop games, but I do not have a good feeling about the next couple of years.
Your biggest defence is probably that the security state simply isn't interested in you.
As we've seen all too well with certain events within the last three years, the UK's long tradition of an unwritten constitution means that it's all too easy to shit all over that unwritten constitution if enough civil servants think they can make it stick and bully the relevant spineless politicians.

And all of the politicians are spineless.
