elect for Livingstone-Macleod, made waves in April when comments she made about heart attack victims needing to take responsibility for their condition started circling the internet.
Petrovic said her comments, which were made during a February podcast interview, were taken out of context, as she was speaking to the greater health care problem in the province.
As a nurse, she said she has seen people suffer from heart attacks and not take responsibility for their health.
“This might be political suicide here, what I’m about to say,” she began. “We can look at this, and I see it in health care, I’m going to say it: maybe the reason you had a heart attack was because you haven’t taken care of yourself; you’re extremely overweight, you haven’t managed your congestive heart failure, you haven’t managed your diabetes and there’s no personal accountability.”
Straight up facts, but the pArTy oF sCiEiNce objects lmao
The riding I grew up in (Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre) had a guy who tried to replace Kenney's right-hand man & Sky Palace partier Jason Nixon as the UCP candidate but was disqualified due to social media activity (such a free speech party!) and allegations Hoven disparaged the RCMP at the Coutts blockade. There was a big hullabaloo and he ended up running as a pro-Smith independent.
Despite this MUH VOTE SPLIT opportunity, even the CBC said the "risk of vote-splitting and the opposition coming up the middle is nearly non-existent. The NDP scored nine per cent of the riding's vote in 2019, and until this year has never run a candidate who actually lives in the riding." https://archive.is/wip/u5t0l
The was clearly also believed by Notley and the candidate- he showed up to debates dressed worse than Fetterman and even a dyed-in-the-wool NDP supporter my dad knows was extremely disappointed in him.

"BUT WE CAN'T SPLIT DUH VOTE!"
Literally what I've heard firsthand from people who voted UCP.
