This is an aspect of Japan's legal system that I really envy, that you can sue the cheaters for adultery as part of your compensation.
Really cuts down on the thottery when you gotta pay a few grand to the jilted partner and you're now legally known as a homewreaker.
It’s still a thing in HI, IL, MS, NM, NC, SD, and UT. The jilted spouse can sue for alienation of affection.
