Spaniards are white btw
So...?
No, he didn't.
So?? It's a movie
So white characters have to be strong or something?
It goes back to my original phrasing of them having 'Hispanic sounding names'. But perhaps they are Italian names. The connotation is (or was) pretty much the same.
Pretty sure that he does.
Italian Americans having a unique cultural heritage and history, that sets them apart from the Anglo-Saxon majority? In this time period Italian Americans were the big 'ethnic other' that you could use to show your multicultural bonafides. 'The Sopranos' was running from 1999 to 2007. The FF movie was released in 2001.
I guess I would ask why you insist on singling Italians out among white people?
That was the big thing in Hollywood at the time, as I briefly touched upon by mentioning 'The Sopranos' (same time period), in which the 'Italian American identity' was being deconstructed in typical HBO fashion. 'The Sopranos' had a huge cultural impact on the entertainment industry.
