We used to have these old bus shelters that were made of a diamond shaped mesh that was double sided and offset from each other so that it would shade and let the breeze through.
It really sucked in the winter though, but as soon as they installed glass bus shelters they would regularly get vandalised.
The old ones stood for 30 years with no maintenance cost...
Yeah but this is the government, you should see how wasteful local councils are in the UK with their spending and that is also universally mocked. There's shit they've put up in the country I would love to knock down for free.
That pole cost as much as a two car garage. A simple open-front shed design with perforated sides would have done the job better for cheaper.
