A bigger issue I think is that Republicans occasionally still have some lingering and outdated agendas that they still try to sneak in every now and then. This of course can scare off independent voters in droves.

The Republican party really needs to clearly redefine what the party stands for and put far less priority on appealing to long-aged platforms that only appeal to the absolute oldest parts of the population left in the country.

IE, Senator Lindsey Graham really needs to get the boot. He's been a consistent and absolute embarrassment for far too many years.
