I’ll quote my dad again…… who is clamoring for this?! Remember when we noticed an uptick in gay characters years back and were told “not everyone is straight”. Now we need to remind them that everyone isn’t gay. There was a time I would’ve given a show with a gay character a chance (same with black or female) but now I’m so sick of lgbt agenda, race garbage, and girl power on steroids that I rarely watch any show made in the past ten years.
I’ll keep saying it, if you want heavy lgbt content then make a streaming service. Generally speaking straight people (even the virtue signalers) aren’t interested in heavily lgbt content so make a service for that specific group. They don’t because they feel they need to take down a “heteronormative” monster. Heterosexuality is the norm. They need to accept that and make content that appeals to their group.
The people clamoring for it are the kind of people who can’t go twenty minutes without being “seen,” “validated,” “represented,” whatever the fuck buzzword they choose in the moment.
I seem to remember “we just want to be left alone”.
The problem I have found is those who do want to just be left alone (like my bisexual fiancé) moved on with their lives. It is only the ones with chips on their shoulders and/or radical agendas who keep pushing these things, at the expense of others they supposedly side with (there is a reason my fiancé despise the modern LGBT movement).
I forgot where I saw it, maybe on the tweets where the leftists were ranting about a video of high schoolers filmed in 2002 (“EVERYONE IN THIS VIDEO WOULD HAVE CALLED ME A FAGGOT!!!”), but wherever it was, someone pointed out that if you reduce an online activist down to their core, you find someone who never got over their high school experience. That seems to be the difference between a gay person trying to get through life, and a gay person screeching about a 20-year-old video on social media and (to the OP point) demanding every character on TV be gay: the former has gotten over any bad shit that happened in high school if any, while the latter has not. Insert “trans” in place of “gay” and it’s probably the same.
