Thing is, the only string of logic these people follow is "YOU'S A BITCH!" and that you have money, therefore they're going to take it from you. It is not very likely that they have regard for you or your life - they have no such discretion or moral code, nor do they often have the IQ to process future-tense hypotheticals or empathy, and will more than likely harm or even kill you to achieve these ends. Imprisonment means fucking nothing to them and doing so (causing you or a loved one serious harm) would bring them a net positive in the form of clout.

We live in an entirely different dimension in terms of law and morality.

If I can't trust that you aren't going to pluck my fingers off and rape my family and you're breaking into my home at night, I am shooting you. End of story.
