One big failing in this argument that homeschooling is harmful is...the kids would be influenced by the parents one way or the other anyway. You think just forcing them to go to public government schools would mean they weren't still being taught - intentionally or not - by their parents. If the parents are batshit insane like they're trying to imply, merely sending the kids to school isn't going to solve the issue. But they want to take the kids too, that's the next step.
