This is this some next-level of pandering.

Three things...
Real Neo Nazis aren't pro Trump. That association started with anons to smear his candidacy as soon as he announced. However just like the God Emperor Trump meme, it took on a life of its own and Internet edgelords of all stripes unironically jumped on the MAGA train and became his keyboard warriors when they saw that the guy wasn't like any other fake candidate before.
To the extent that some "neo nazis" supported him, one reason is the machismo or "I don't give a shit" attitude with Trump. He's the anti-PC candidate. The same energy that attracts people to strong-man dictators over Rule By Committee caused disaffected young men to gravitate towards Trump. It's the same style that people like Ted Cruz, Matt Walsh, and Ron DeSantis copied once they saw how effective it was.
Trump does not go out of his way attack neo nazis. He doesn't attack anyone except "the radical Left", celebrities, the media, and politicians like "crazy Nancy". It's one of his distinctions - call it a strength or weakness, he wants to be loved by all Americans. The closest he's come is denouncing White Supremacy when asked for the 50th time by Chris Wallace to do so, and saying "there's bad people on both sides". Meanwhile DeSantis or at least his allies announced out of nowhere they're going to kick those evil anti-Semites out of Florida. (???)
I'm not a neo-nazi or even a counter-semite, and I'm equally disappointed in both candidates. These are just my observations.
