There was never any intent to murder. Yet they call it that anyway. This was a person trying to do good and subduing a crazy man who could have easily harmed another passenger.

The felon struggled against three men. Not because he was an innocent bystander but because he was angry at having been caught doing wrong.

Being mentally unwell is no excuse either. If this was his first incident, maybe you can make that case. But he was arrested dozens of times, was clearly dangerous and unwell, yet released over and over again.

As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.
