I don't understand what Canada is doing... Seems like we're just shooting ourselves in the foot. How can we compete with American social media if our social media has to censor? It's not like American social media will follow Canadian rules. We have no leverage to force companies to do anything.

How will Facebook and Twitter enforce it? It's too cumbersome to even begin to enforce.
They will probably outsource the censorship to third partys, like in Germany with Arvato (a Bertelsmann company).
