It's kind of a yes-and-no issue to me. Clearly, rejecting social morays is a problem. But because of the institutional power of the Left, and as we saw most particularly with Covid, Leftist attitudes are now the social morays.
Yes you have a obligation to attack people in the street if they aren't wearing a mask (until "the facts evolved"), yes you have an obligation to attack people if they are wearing a Trump hat, yes you have an obligation to attack someone for not using an aerogenders preferred pronouns, yes you should be de-banked, yes you should be fired, yes you should be told to kill yourself, yes your children should be raped, yes your wife should be killed, yes you should be homeless, yes it's funny.
You should have just done what you were told, and sucked her dick.
Unfortunately this is one of those times where you need to, not only buck authority, but engage in non-compliance and civil disobedience until the government changes or backs down.
It's my fundamental problem with traditionalists: what if your "tradition" is terrible and should end? What if your culture and society is explicitly inferior? The western traditionalists are appealing to their own tradition, but those traditions have been utterly abandoned by entire states, regions, and provinces in the west. Individual freedom, autonomy, and liberty is becoming utterly alien to our neighbors. We've now gotten to the point that we have to buck the current social morays before or our kids will get raped.
I think the difference between what I described as a problem and what we should be doing now is the ability to rationalize and conceptualize why we should reject that authority.
From hippies back in the day to the Lefties now, almost all their reasoning is summed up as "i hate my dad" and "I want gimmies." They can read off a list of justifications, but they are all post hoc. They reflexively rejected, then made up a reason as to why.
Whereas I think most people could tell you why masks didn't work if they didn't want to wear them, as most probably were begrudgingly accepting of it during the "2 weeks" promised and then rejected.
Which is also why I try to caution people around here from falling into the same trap of "Lefties love it, must be woke trash!" Because it makes you just as easily manipulated and grifted, and removes your ability to think about an issue because you've already reflexively made up your mind. The RE4make was a good sign of how much people are willing to just eat outrage clickbait from our own sign and do no further thinking.
The best Leftist arguments back in the day were very much metaphysic nonsense. Basically, everything came down to John Lennon's "Imagine".
That's very true. Both woke and anti-woke are excellent ways to manipulate people emotionally. Anti-Communism, for example, has been repeatedly used by the Left to support Democratic Socialism. That's actually where the 3 Arrows comes from.
Even Mao once declared himself to be a "Rightist" and condemned the "Left Wing Adventurism" that had """"led to the famines"""". You know... his policies.
