Currently watching a livestream for a conference. Big, international organization, and yet the stream is disastrous...
I remember these same issues from conferences I have been to, in-person, myself. The stream almost always failed in some way. And this is the same shit.
It's like, it's so bloated, and so tech-illiterate, as to be almost completely unusable. And yet it's ubiquitous. Eugh...
YouTube's built in streaming functionality is almost unuseable, so most people use Streamyards as an intermediary. Streamyards is mandatory if you want to do screen sharing, multiple cameras, playing videos, or other more sophisticated effects. But the way that Streamyards works is that all of its inputs are streamed to its servers and then the combined product is streamed to Youtube's servers. Streamyards often gets overwhelmed and when it does it glitches out.
Oh no, this was so much worse than that...
Single camera, back of the room (presumably) capturing both what was on screen and on the stage (yes, really), presumably even using the in-built camera mic...
Can't blame Youtube itself for those things, lol. But yeah, I would say that they definitely weren't using anything like that then, heh...
