The second half of that sentence gave me a twitch trying to decipher it. I'm still not certain its a coherent thought and not just them devolving into frothing buzzwords.
Also traditional roles weren't meant to make people happier, because happiness is an entirely modern construct only a few centuries old and the notion of "being happy," instead of it being a temporary transient state, is functionally impossible. Chasing being happy is like chasing that first high from a drug, it just drags you into further depravity to get less and less of that dopamine you crave.
Those old roles were meant to make you content and successful. Not a huge step above neutral, but more lacking in major negatives like stress and anxiety. Which is a maintainable state.
Nothing about marriage lacks stress and misery.
Well of course you'd hate old gender roles. You can't even handle the basic requirements of being a man, one of which is not being a whiny little girl about everything.
