Old people love their vaccine even today, at least the centrist and left ones, and young people weren't forced to take it under Trump. This narrative that Trump is going down because he's standing behind the vaccine is just nuts.
In America the final contest is over the center, with politicians only appealing to their base to win the primary. Trump is positioning for the general election not the primary. There's like zero Republican voters who will vote for Biden or not vote because of the vaccines; they'll blame China or Democrats for the negative aspects. The only way this could be a net negative for Trump's campaign is if he loses the primary, but that's not very likely.
It's quite possible Trump loses the primary to DeSantis, but it won't be over issues and especially not the vax.
Over half of voters and around 80% of conservatives say 2020 was stolen (it was) and since nothing has much changed the big issue in the primary is whether Trump can win the election despite being cheated again or whether DeSantis is better due to less extreme cheating against him.
Voters are regularly underestimated while making far better decisions than any individual could (the original jelly bean jar) and this is a complicated estimation since a lot of the cheating was boosted by covid, but also a lot still present so very hard to say what the best choice is.
This is why it's so hard to predict the group decision, because each of us is totally convinced of our guess of how many jelly beans / how much cheating / how people view the vax is correct when as a rule it's far off from reality.
