The left is far, far more adherent to purity tests than the right. By contrast, right wingers are extremely tolerant of differing opinions, hence why right wingers are the ones who try to engage in debate while leftists are "too dignified" and morally superior to do the same. Furthermore, anyone who doesn't toe the leftist party line is immediately ostracized and cast as a racist or homophobe or whatever. I just can't believe how big the gap has grown between reality and leftist message, it's completely baffling.
