I’ve heard certain progressive women bitch about not wanting a white male doctor because “studies” show that they don’t take women’s complaints as seriously as other docs. I suppose I can say from this post I would refuse to be treated by a trans doctor. I wanted to told what’s wrong with me, not have my normal male body cause a breakdown for the doctor, either because it reminds her of what she’ll never have or reminds him of what he’s trying to run away from.
It used to kind of be a semi-common thing to hear, “I wanted to be a doctor/nurse but couldn’t stand the sight of blood.” Now I guess it’s “I wanted to be a doctor but couldn’t stand the sight of half or all my patients.”
People switch off doctors all the time for reasons much less legitimate than “my doctor is literally mentally ill”. I imagine a trans doctor would quickly find itself treating exclusively trans patients.
But you know what would be really funny? If even the trans patients switched off this trans doctor. Because everyone is suddenly “very selective” when it comes to their own healthcare.
