Trump surrounds himself with snakes like Lindsay Graham as his advisors and he staffs his 2024 campaign with idiots like Seb Gorka, Alex Bruesewitz, Roger Stone and the worst moron I have seen yet, Paul Ingrassia.
Trump 2024 campaign's Paul Ingrassia actually has the audacity to claim that Trump can win a 49 state landslide victory like Nixon and Reagan. No candidate in either party can get close to those landslides because the country is much more polarized. This is electoral politics 101 knowledge and this Ingrassia clown doesn't realize it.
Trump would be lucky to repeat his 2020 map in 2024 if he is the nominee. Hell he potentially will lose two key states he won before in 2024.
NC and TX are truly at risk for him if he keeps playing J6 footage on the jumbotron like he did at the Waco rally yesterday or if he picks a divisive hysteric like MTG or Kari Lake as his V.P. Trump is sadly speed running how to alienate swing independent voters.
I hope Trump is not the nominee but God forbid if he becomes the nominee, he needs to stop playing that J6 footage and refrain from picking MTG or Lake as his V.P. Those moves would decimate the Republican nominees even in the down ballot races.

He doesn't listen to them though. Unfortunately, DeSantis backtracked somewhat on his anti-neocon position and started repeating childish slogans like "Putin is a war criminal" and Graham's mentor McCain's "Russia is a gas station".
His position remains the same. He is against U.S. intervention
He condemned Putin even when the whole thing started last year. He said it now again and said the gas station line because like it or not that position plays well with the median general election voter.
Our very small board generally contains people who would fit on the most right wing slice of the entire American electorate. DeSantis can't win any national election by solely pandering to people here.
The anti-war, isolationist, non-interventionist position is the one aspect of populism that appeals to pretty much everyone outside the elite, even across party lines, and yet it is the first one that DeSantis seems to have backpedaled on. Whatever he's doing, it's the opposite of trying to appeal to the mainstream voter. A significant amount of Trump's continued popularity stems from the fact that he is the only President in the past century who didn't involve the US in yet another war, and actually took steps to end ongoing military involvement overseas.
