Patton had the right answer. The remains of the wehrmacht should've been turned around and pointed at the soviets. Wholesale annihilation of all communist power bases is an global imperative for humanity.

This. And, in hindsight, it seems like it would have been better to let the Japanese keep what they conquered in China and let them have eastern Siberia too.
