You misunderstand. This isn't the first time the Western media has wrung its hands about Ugandan anti-LGBT laws, and last time they were crying about the death penalty for homosexuality and downplaying the fact that the death penalty was only for homosexual rape.
I didn't know that but that's exactly why I was asking, but basically they are just outright lying about what's going on there? It's difficult to know sometimes because there's what the media will report, versus what the state announces, versus what's actually happening on the ground. The three are often not in sync with each other at all.
