Bad. They're both google chromium browsers for one. They're also both proprietary closed source. Vivaldi sends home your unique ID and telemetry every 24/7, while Opera is CCP chinese owned.
Bad. It's googles way of forcing the internet to become a package deal, together with Custom Elements/DOM. It'll break most ad-blockers that are extensions, and those that do get re-written are going to be nerfed and allow some ads through. Not enough to cause an uproar, but enough to get people used to it and excuse it with "it's just a few relevant ones". DNS blocking won't work either, as those kinds of ads are served as first-party ads, which is a part of the site itself (and MV3 adblockers can't block Site Elements). Pale Moon still uses the more powerful XUL/UXP addons and allows for the best combo of eMatrix and uBlock Origin.
Yup. Firefox will be switching to MV3, but last I heard they're keeping WebRequest from MV2. For now. When every other extension developer has moved to the larger and more popular MV3 format, FF will not be able to keep WebRequest if they're going to compete with "modern" chromium browsers. Which seems to be their intent judging from history, as they're going more and more chromium-like.
