Oh yea. How do they justify that? I remember a straight up atheist asking online to modern churches why they don’t found their own religion because it looked stupid to cherry pick what they like and don’t like
from a young age these people build their entire identity around resisting something they deem to be oppressive. it could be a religion, a country, or (in recent years) even a popular franchise. in this case, the oppression is that that judaism/chrsitianity has different customs and societal rules for man and women. when you tell feminists they're not allowed to do something, it really grinds their gears. even if they don't care about said thing (this woman is most definitely not religious, it's a lifestyle thing).
anyway, the way they "resist" can be summed up as burning it to the ground and turning it into a mockery of everything it stands for. all to satisfy their obsessive revenge fantasies. sounds familiar?
Very familiar. I’m really happy with my church now and I really hope it doesn’t go crazy. For instance I know people who had to leave their church during Floyd riots due to their pastor lecturing about white privilege.
Religion aside, this is not how you subvert an institution. The long march through the institutions is intended to corrupt and twist the old functioning groups from within and bend them to the will of Marxists (or various other brands of revolutionaries and/or progressives). They do this for two reasons: 1) They hate the old and 2) cannot create on their own. As to why any religious clergy or laymen of any particular group would tolerate such behavior, I can only assumed its the typical reason lately: pathological altruism.
That also describes what we see in entertainment. They can’t creat their own comic book for instance so they have to corrupt classic characters.
Yeah. Contentious media consumption at this point nearly requires giving strong preference to original works. Not much loss in that as most known names have been bought up by large corporations employing creatives (for lack of a better word) who hate us. It can be hard for some it give up on beloved IP, but the originals are still there. It was difficult to explain to a boomer parent why not only would I not watch ring of power with them but that I was legitimately irritated with them watching it.
