Its honestly amazing. She has been almost perfectly consistently wrong and loudly stupid for decades, and hasn't been in a movie anyone can name or care about since like the 80s.
She is the epitome of "famous for being famous, protected by being a black women."
Came back to say this. She did pretty well as Guinan, so credit where credit is due. That said, if there's anything I've learned from Patrick Stewart or Mark Hamill, it is that the wisdom of the characters they play does not automatically get imparted onto the actor themselves.
One does not need to be smart or moral in order to be a good actor.
