I saw these two videos fairly close together, and it really shocks me.
Puss in Boots has an amazing film that will probably last a long time, and be remembered fondly. The characters, motivations, and story are top notch. The style of animation is new, and works well with their design. It's like they cared about making a better film, and did.
Mat Pat basically reviews Ant-Man 3 and says it's obvious the film has a rewrite, but still feels like a single episode in a slowly dying TV show. The attempt to pass on the torch to younger avengers isn't working, and Marvel Movie creators don't know what to do about it.
This contrast is sort of insane to look at, and a great example of Disney's hubris, and internal politics. Along with that are signs that other companies are moving on and making better films because of it. This shows in parks, movies, TV shows, and videogames.
You know Puss in Boots is good when even the Drinker is talking about it. Normally he doesn't bother to talk about kid's movies.
There was a time when best animated film actually meant Best Film of the Year, but the rest of Hollywood didn't want to admit it.
