Douglas Murray gives a decent explanation here, but surely there are even better ones out there.

I'd say that no definition of "woke" would be complete without an acknowledgement of their self worship and god complex.

They define themselves and their motivations as intrinsically good, therefore any disagreement or impediments to their goals are automatically evil.
