I think the real issue here is similar to some things Tony Blair has said recently, actually rejecting identity politics. It was a tool for specific times, but the balkanization and polarization have caused more blowback than is necessary. These people want as little blowback as possible to make as much headway as possible. You can't just run around screaming to kill whitey, or christians, or whatever without generating blowback. That's why they love environmentalism, and thought they had something with covid. Lots of compliance without needing an actual enemy at all. The problem is that they were so aggressive with certain lockdown measures that they created a blowback force (lockdown critics / injection skeptics) that they almost didn't need to have.
These are Fabian Socialists remembering that they need to be Fabian. And that was my biggest criticism going back several years. The elites are acting in a nearly hysterical way. They are being way too aggressive. The Fabians forgot to be Fabian, either because they thought they were either inches away from victory, or inches away from total collapse.
