Because Latin Mass is ancient heritage, something progressives hate. And the pope is a progressive, not a Catholic. Methinks the Catholic Church will have to split to survive, one going all out progressive and dying while the rest goes hard traditional. One will worship its master, the king of this world, the other will worship the Christ with ties to the ancient world and Christendom.
