Spare me your Kremlin propaganda. You don't live in reality. It does, in fact, apply to the West, and the West is not hypocritical in its application. The West takes great pains to avoid and minimize civilian casualties, and any time it makes mistakes, it is punished in the press for doing so, which is why our enemies routinely use civilian human shields to punish and deter air attacks.
You know who would NEVER use human shields? The enemies of Russia and China, because those motherfuckers wouldn't hesitate for a second.
Also, Azerbaijan is not a Western ALLY. The fact that Israel sells Azerbaijan weapons does not make it a Western ALLY. "In 1992, the U.S. Congress adopted Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, which banned any direct U.S. aid to the government of Azerbaijan." Ukraine isn't an ally yet, either. It's a recipient of aid. Alliances are mutual compacts. Ukraine isn't obligated to the US or EU in any way. This will likely change once the hot war with Russia is over, though. Ukraine doesn't target civilians anyway, but Russia 100% does and has done so a great deal.
It's tiresome for you to call everything you don't like "Kremlin propaganda".
You're right. Hypocrisy to the West is like the water fish swim in. It comes so naturally that it need not even be mentioned.
Like when Biden blew up the family of an Afghan ALLY in retaliation for an "ISIS-Kh" terrorist attack?!
Yes, they do so to be able to get propaganda, and you want to deny them that propaganda. None of this has anything at all to do with regard for civilian casualties. They don't care.
It's funny that I can see that Putin doesn't care about civilians, even though the Russian army tries to minimize civilian casualties, but you can't. You think Biden is some sort of Disney prince.
This monstrous creature's statements show otherwise.
Oh, but that genocide is OK because Azerbaijan is our ALLY! Then you can kill all you want!
Well, good for them, I guess the Armenian lobby managed to get something done, because God knows they wouldn't do anything out of good intentions.
Come on man. They commanded Zelensky to not make peace, and he obeyed. He's literally their slave. "Ukraine" is obliged to bleed the flower of its youth to death for American imperialism.
You just keep repeating crap and imagining that it suddenly becomes true. Donetsk.
Yes, that was noteworthy for its sheer incompetence. Biden was like "blow something up, maaaan, anything! I just need to be able to say I did something!" white rage miley: "but we don't have a target." Biden: "ask the taliban for one!" #1 warner of chinese miley: "that's a fantastic idea, we can trust them."
"trustworthy energy suppliers" does not = ally. We have a lot more economic deals with China than with Azerbaijan, by your logic China is our biggest ally. lol.
Armenia picked a side, and it picked Russia. Had Armenia allied with the West instead, we would have protected it. Nation states do not rush to geographically inconvenient parts of the world to help countries allied to our enemies, just because that country got wrongly attacked.
No country should ever ally with Russia (or China). When the chips are down and helping is inconvenient for them, they simply won't do it.
Apparently, he told Isis-Kh that "you will pay". Then he blew up an Afghan family. He said the same thing when the border guards were falsely accused of whipping Haitians. Some joked this meant he would blow up another Afghan family.
The same corrupt scumbags who say Russia bad because it mounted a wholly justified attack on a non-country, and impose sanctions on it, won't do the same for Azerbaijan. I wonder why. Could it be that hypocrisy is the state religion in the West?
Yeah? As if you can 'ally with the West' in the Caucasus. Saakashvilli learned that the hard way.
I actually agree. I've never seen a more useless 'ally' than Russia in the Karabach conflict. That said, it was Russia or nothing.
This would have been an endless scandal if a Republican did it. But when a Democrat murders the innocent, the Democrat media all just engage in a conspiracy of silence to benefit and cover for him. "It's okay, suppress your principles for the Greater Good of left wing politics!" they say, or they would, if they had any principles.
No. Ukraine was pro-West and actively trying to join the West economically/politically and was invaded primarily for that reason. So the West feels honor bound to defend Ukraine. If the West does not defend Ukraine, it sets a precedent that any country adhering to Russia/China out of fear, could never switch sides because if it tried, Russia/China would crush it. This would be a precedent that would strongly undermine the West's own power and ability to expand, since the West expands through consent and people coming to us of their own free will. Russia is trying to take away Ukraine's free will and send a message to the world that anyone else who tries will get crushed.
Thus, it is existential to the West to support Ukraine. Anything less would be an utter concession to Russia and China of "spheres of influence" and legitimize empire-building, none of which the West actually supports.
Armenia, on the other hand, was solidly a Russian client state and ally with no desire to change that, being invaded solely because of a historical grievance over a war where it had defeated the (now much stronger) Azerbaijan 30 years ago.None of this had anything to do with the West/EU, so why would they care to get involved?
While I support Armenia over Azerbaijan, it is foolish to claim that Azerbaijan's attack was not justified. Armenia invaded and conquered Azerbaijan's territory, and Azerbaijan never stopped disputing that, so this was an inevitable war. Armenia lost because it was corrupt & complacent, and relied too much on Russian help that didn't come.
You can. Saakashvilli was a fool who pushed too hard, too soon. Had he waited and cultivated stronger ties with the West instead of foolishly taking obvious bait after the 1st date with the West when the West wasn't particularly invested in him yet, things would have gone much differently.
Georgia is being fast tracked into NATO now thanks to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. If Georgia was NATO, there would be no question of anyone fucking with it. Russia seethes at the Baltics, but it doesn't dare raise a finger to them anymore.
And all this would have been true of Armenia as well. Georgia & Armenia could be close allies and Armenia could be fully under EU protection even though Turkey would block them from full NATO membership (Turkey's abuse of this little feature is going to eventually lead to it being reformed and the polish veto on NATO membership being abolished). Armenia has a lot of support in the United States, which is all for nothing since it picked Russia.
And besides, what value is picking Russia? Russia provided Armenia with no help at all. Russia is like "oh we got our own problems, you're on your own" while Azerbaijan has been taking full advantage and absolutely pummeling Armenia. The vaunted Russian air force, which is useless against Ukraine, could have been used against Azerbaijan in air strikes and cruise missile attacks to honor Russia's alliance and show it isn't a worthless ally. Azerbaijan can't really invade Russia by land because the terrain is mountains.
So like I said, the West isn't "nothing". They have a lot to offer. Just look at Ukraine. If Armenia had been a strongly pro-West country, they would have gotten tons of help in the form of aid & intelligence just like Ukraine, albeit on a smaller scale.
The West also has tons of ECONOMIC tools to pressure Azerbaijan with, far moreso than most countries, and Azerbaijan is extremely vulnerable to western economic sanctions. Since Azerbaijan is much smaller than Russia, too, the EU would be much less reluctant to impose harsh sanctions since it wouldn't really cause much impact in their own economies.
