Saying it's okay a Mexican illegal murdered your daughter, because they have "better food" is cool.
Saying you prefer media that still cares about its fans is not okay.
So consuming specific pieces of media that doesn't center gays and trannies and doesn't portray them in the fetishizing western way is "pretending they don't exist"?
Also, about pretending the things we dislike don't exist. Isn't that kind of like trigger warnings and avoiding them? Like I have seen multiple people do that with animal death, mentions of medical procedures, etc.
How is that different? I'm not saying I will go into a fit, but there are certain things I simply do not care to see/read. SO?
Let's not forget the original context of the trigger warning: mental health. As in actual PTSD not "someone was mean on twitter" but "I was in a combat zone and saw 3 of my best mates blown into mince by artillery fire" bona fide psychological trauma
