I see a lot of people saying 'this glows' or 'this is a psy op'. There is something you always need to consider:
People who are very intellectual about a subject whether that's biology, chemistry, medicine, scientific research etc can be some of the dumbest motherfuckers that exist.
Seriously, a great example of this for me was Aum Shinrikyo, the Japanese cult responsible for the 1995 Tokyo subway Sarin gas attack. These weren't 'dumb' people that got tricked into doing it, they were postgraduates and doctors. Smart people might be able to come up with new discoveries and theories but lack the critical social awareness that we have to know when a situation doesn't seem right or know to avoid something that seems to be a trap or a cult.
There's also the same factor that academics, autists and introverts love to blab unsolicited about their areas of expertise and interest, particularly when they finally find a party expressing even the most minimal level of interest.
