I have absolutely no problem with this. Like, yeah, this seems completely reasonable.

Even 20 years ago, I think most people might actually say “Yeah, you know what, that’s probably fair, at this point.”

However, somewhere along the way, we became much more tribal, so I can very much imagine women’s groups today fighting this all the way.

Self interest and tribalism long ago trumped the rational, the reasonable and the fair. And we are all worse off for that fact.
