Everyone’s bias against the Daily Wire is affecting their judgement. They’re swallowing Crowder’s side of the story hook, line and sinker.
The DW terms document is pretty standard fare. Crowder sat on the document for four months before releasing it. He registered the “StopTheCon.com” domain a month before this blew up. He secretly recorded a conversation with a friend a week before releasing his video. He has a history of enforcing contracts on people to shut them up (see: NotGayJared, Devin Tienken). Nobody from either DW or Blaze has come out and said their voice is being silenced or suppressed like Crowder claims they are doing. Crowders claims about independent conservative voices being silenced can’t be substantiated at all, nor can his claims of “Big Con” colluding with big tech.
The facts just do not add up.
I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of DW, but they are actually successful at pushing back against the Left, and you can’t argue with results.
Crowder, you don’t like how DW runs their business? Fine, but don’t air your grievances in public and burn bridges along the way just because you don’t like their business model. Don’t declare a crusade against “Big Con” and big tech and then whine and complain when another company won’t unconditionally support your crusade. Instead, stand on your own two feet and prove your business model and prove you’re more effective than those you’re attacking. Stop being a drama queen.
I didn't know until this thread that DW got in bed with Black Rifle Coffee.
On that point alone I will dismiss them. And I actually paid for a month's sub to watch some show with JP last year.
That’s totally irrelevant, but totally fine.
People are just being tribal and picking sides based on emotions, not evaluating this situation with any level of objectivity. Just because DW has its own problems doesn’t mean Crowder is right. Crowder is a performer who knows how to create and milk controversy. He might honestly believe he’s on a righteous crusade but it’s clear this is orchestrated for maximum attention grabbing to his own benefit.
If you want to hear a good, balanced take on the Crowder vs. Daily Wire situation listen to Mark Dice, Gavin McInnes, Bill Whittle or even Tim Pool or Frei and Barnes. Pretty much everyone else is picking sides based on emotion or ignorance.
Starting from the position that any talking mouth is a waste of space.
In this situation you have Crowder, which is one, and on the other you have a corpo. A corpo that wants you to be ok with the same liberal censorship they purport to be fighting.
There is no need for beanie approved nuance from talking heads.
Crowder’s livelihood and business model are almost entirely dependent on YouTube, far more so than the Daily Wire. Crowder literally self-censors so he can remain live on YouTube. There is zero difference between the constraints that Crowder puts on himself and the constraints DW were proposing. DW even embraced the idea of a special “Piss Off YouTube” segment hosted on their platform to avoid censorship.
This entire thing is preposterous on its face. Crowder has no reasonable case to back up his brash claims or unprofessional behavior.
